SURGIDERM®

Product Summary
The SURGIDERM® range, manufactured by Corneal Group, is based on their patented cross-linking process called '3D Hyaluronic Acid Matrix Technology', which is claimed to allow for a tighter, more uniform, and greater number of cross-link structures, allowing greater resistance to degradation, meaning that it claims to last longer than other hyaluronic based fillers.

SURGIDERM® was launched in the UK in 2006. As a result, you may only come across a few practitioners using this product currently.

Generic name
Non animal stabilized hyaluronic acid.

How is it made?
By bacterial fermentation from streptococci bacteria.

Is it temporary or permanent?
Hyaluronic acid is completely broken down within the skin over a period of months, eventually leaving no trace of the filler.

Why Hyaluronic acid?
For several years, Hyaluronic has been used in a variety of applications: Ophthalmology, rheumatology, dental surgery and naturally, aesthetic medicine.

Hyaluronic acid is a substance naturally present in the dermis. It is an essential component of the skin’s structure and helps to hydrates the skin tissues. As you age, this Hyaluronic acid deteriorates in quality and quantity and leads to dermal impairment. Your skin becomes drier and fine lines and then wrinkles start to appear. Your cheeks, cheekbones and lips loose their substance. Thanks to Hyaluronic acid’s volume-enhancing and moisturising effects SURGIDERM® fills your wrinkles and restores facial volume.

How long will the effects of SURGIDERM® last?
The average durability of fillers in the SURGIDERM® range is between 9 to 12 months. It may sometimes be shorter or longer depending on:

  • your age,
  • skin quality,
  • your lifestyle (smoking and sun exposure, or UVs may shorten the effect),
  • the choice of product and the injection site.

At what age should I start SURGIDERM® injections?
SURGIDERM® range is designed for adult patients.
It is an ideal implant for filling wrinkles BUT ALSO for:

  • irradiating imperfections or correcting asymmetry,
  • remodelling cheeks,
  • making facial contours more regular,
  • giving your face a more youthful glow.

SURGIDERM® should be used by trained members of the medical profession only.
